Our Team

Lauren Caines – Practice Founder / Manager

BNSc (JCU)

Meet Lauren Caines, the heart behind our general practice clinic. With a nursing background cultivated at James Cook University in Townsville, Lauren brings over a decade of expertise to her role as Practice Manager.

In 2022, after seeing the community’s need for increased General Practice services, along with her husband Dan, she founded the Atherton Health Hub. A patient-centred clinic striving to provide compassionate, team-based care.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Lauren is a devoted mother of three and a passionate outdoor enthusiast. When she’s not managing the clinic, you’ll find her camping under the stars or exploring the great outdoors.

With her commitment to healthcare and love for adventure, Lauren embodies the perfect balance of professionalism and passion.

Fleur House – Registered Nurse

BNSc

Fleur is our experienced and compassionate registered nurse, bringing many years of expertise in both general practice and community nursing. With a deep commitment to patient care, Fleur has developed a strong clinical focus in wound management, chronic disease care, and immunisations. Her calm presence, thorough knowledge, and gentle approach make her a trusted support for both patients and the wider healthcare team.

Beyond the clinic, Fleur brings a whole new level of energy—she’s a proud member of a Roller Derby team and loves hitting the track for fast-paced, high-adrenaline fun. It’s just one of the ways she brings strength and spirit to everything she does.

At home, Fleur finds joy in her garden, where she grows a variety of fruit and vegetables. It’s her peaceful retreat from a busy work life. And while she lives a healthy, active lifestyle, she admits that chocolate will always be her sweet spot!

Josh Klein – Pharmacist

BPharm (JCU), Grad Cert

Josh Klein was raised right here in Atherton and has deep roots in the local community. After completing his schooling locally, he pursued his passion for healthcare at James Cook University in Townsville, graduating with a Bachelor of Pharmacy in 2013.

Josh has worked predominantly in community pharmacy, where he developed a strong foundation in patient care and medication management. With a growing interest in the more clinical aspects of pharmacy, he became a credentialed pharmacist in 2017, enabling him to conduct Home Medication Reviews and provide more in-depth support to patients.

Today, Josh brings his expertise to aged care and general practice settings, where he works closely with GPs and other healthcare professionals to ensure patients receive safe, effective, and personalised medication care.

Outside of work, Josh enjoys spending time in his shed working on DIY projects and restoring classic cars. He’s an avid camper and 4WD enthusiast who loves exploring the outdoors. He also finds time to unwind at the piano, blending creativity with precision—much like in his professional life.

With Heidi, you’ll find a healthcare professional who not only brings expertise and warmth to every patient interaction but also strives for continuous growth and excellence in her field.

As a mother of four, she understands the delicate balance between care at home and care in the clinic. Beyond her role as a nurse, Heidi is an avid runner, finding happiness and strength in every stride.
